Well known for its tree-lined streets and family-friendly appeal, welcoming Burlingame attracts new residents with its charming shops, great schools and diverse home designs. Originally created generations ago as a destination for San Francisco’s elite, Burlingame still retains some of its original appeal. Sometimes referred to as the City of Trees, the sheltered streets of Burlingame make room for a large variety of home styles today. Buyers are treated to everything from cozy bungalows to much larger, family-friendly homes, condos and apartments. Close to San Mateo, Burlingame offers its residents the appeal of enjoying and experiencing the many other delights of a Bay Area lifestyle.
 
As the two main shopping areas of the city are Burlingame Avenue and Broadway, together they offer a mix of boutiques, retailers and restaurants for area residents to choose from. Right in the middle of both you’ll find Burlingame Terrace. As one of the city’s most convenient and centrally located neighborhoods, it’s also within walking distance of the high school and recreation. Extremely close to Burlingame High School too, the neighborhood of Burlingables is considered one of the city’s most walkable areas, with convenient access to downtown’s Caltrain station, plus the shops and restaurants of Burlingame Avenue. Another option within walking distance of Burlingame Avenue is Burlingame Park. This highly coveted neighborhood commands higher prices, with larger lots and spacious home designs. For a mix of Victorians, cottages and bungalows, head to the neighborhood of Easton Addition. It’s a short walk to Broadway, and easy for commuters.
 
Mostly made up of apartments and condos, walkable Downtown Burlingame offers the ease of living conveniently close to restaurants, retailers and transportation. For larger lots, more privacy and an easy commute, residents flock to Burlingame Hills. A bit newer than the rest of Burlingame, the homes of Mills Estates tend to be one- and two-level homes with open floor plans, while you’ll also find some slightly newer homes in Ray Park. As for added fun and recreation, the oldest park in the city, Washington Park, invites in residents with tennis courts, a rec center, a playground and an annual list of concerts and festivals
