Redwood Shores

For waterfront living in a master-planned community, Redwood Shores offers up an inviting location and plentiful amenities. Nearly all of the single-family homes, condos and townhomes of Redwood Shores enjoy peaceful water or greenbelt views, some of which overlook the lagoon and waterways that weave throughout the community. While actually part of Redwood City, Redwood Shores sits to the east of Belmont, with a diverse mix of housing styles that come together in one desirable location. East of 101, between San Francisco and San Jose, modern Redwood Shores brings a park-like setting and newer construction possibilities to the Bay Area.
As one of the peninsula’s newer waterfront communities, development started in the late 1960s, although most growth did not take off until the 1980s and even 90s. As the oldest community in Redwood Shores, Marlin Park is home to single-family homes and condos in a range of price points. You’ll find a distinctly Cape Cod-like flavor with the homes of Beacon Shores, and Mediterranean-style homes with red tile roofs and stucco facades in Sunrise. Some of the area’s largest condos, gated single-family homes and private boat docks exist in Shorebird Solar/Marina Point, while neighborhoods like Sea Bridge/Ponderosa sit right in the middle of Redwood Shores Lagoon. From some of the most affordable residences to some of the most exclusive, the homes, townhomes, condos and apartments of Lighthouse Cove come in a wide variety of styles, while the Boardwalk townhomes and Peninsula Landing condos make it easy to walk to work. While you won’t find any waterfront properties in established Ralston Landing, waterfront homes and private docks do exist in Shearwater, where you’ll also find some of the newest homes in the area.
There’s no Caltrain station in Redwood Shores, but it’s just as easy to hop on a shuttle or walk, with some neighborhoods sitting just a short stroll away from the shops and restaurants of The Marketplace or from some of the nearby tech companies. While watersports are plentiful, relaxing Redwood Shores serves up a number of options for new residents, coupled with the ease of living on the waterfront in a uniquely planned community of newer homes, condos and townhomes.
