Learning to code ROCKS at Tech Rocks!

Learning to code ROCKS at Tech Rocks!

All signs point to coding when it comes to future jobs, and that’s exactly what one Bay Area entrepreneur is banking on when it comes to teaching local kids the ins and outs of typing and coding. Alvin Desuasido has a background in the dot.com industry, but he’s a parent too, so he’s now using his years of experience and expertise in the tech industry to help kids learn coding at Tech Rocks!

Desuasido first started the business eight years ago in Belmont, then later moved it to Olympic Avenue in San Mateo. A couple of years later, he opened a second location in San Francisco. His vision is clear. Tech Rocks! is all about giving kids a place to go to learn about technology. At Tech Rocks!, it’s all about making technology fun for kids, but the business is also about education.

Kids learn typing and coding skills through some of the games they already like to play. Tech Rocks! uses Minecraft and Road Blocks as the foundation, but in a way that show kids all the ways they can learn from coding.

At Tech Rocks! they specialize in teaching kids in grades two through six. As for older students, they also have a leadership program for past students and campers that allows them to come back and put their skills to use teaching some of the younger ones.

Tech Rocks! has a weekly, after school class, plus they offer some camps during school breaks. You can also choose an on-site class or even a Minecraft birthday party through Tech Rocks! in San Mateo and San Francisco.
