Local Bay Area March Events To Check Out

From food festivals to family-friendly theme parks and rock and roll flea markets, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Check out Off the Grid, California Artisan Cheese Festival, Gilroy Gardens, and Pacifica Rock and Roll Flea Market for a taste of California's diverse culture and fun-filled activities.   1. Off the Grid 2023 Kick Off at Fort Mason, San Francisco

 

California’s largest nighttime street food festival is back in San Francisco every Friday beginning March 24, 2023! Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center returns for its 13th season celebrating the variety, diversity and passion of the Bay Area food truck scene and beyond.

 

With over 50 food creators throughout the season, you can find your favorite treats while also discovering new and delicious dishes. Along with a diverse selection of food options, each Friday will also feature the Kivelstadt Cellars WineGarten, full cocktail bar, live music, and more!

 

  1. 17th Annual California Artisan Cheese Festival at Sonoma County Event Center, Santa Rosa

 

Cheese, cheese and more cheese…don’t miss the 17th annual California Artisan Cheese festival, March 24-26, 2023 in Sonoma wine country. Farm & producer tours, seminars and pairings, cheese crawl at the barlow and the ever-popular artisan cheese tasting & marketplace – taste and buy artisan cheese from the makers + all kinds of accouterments including beer, wine, cider and spirits. live entertainment and so much more!

 

  1. Opening Day at Gilroy Garden Family Theme Park

 

Gilroy Gardens is a magical wonderland designed for families with young kids. The park features over 40 fun rides and attractions, nestled among majestic gardens and over 10,000 trees. Many of the rides draw inspiration from the region's agricultural and historic past, such as the Mushroom Swing and Garlic Twirl, as well as gentle rides for younger children to enjoy like Bulgy the Goldfish and Balloon Flight. Additionally, families can explore The Green Barn, a unique space where art and nature converge, and pilot a Duck or Swan Paddle Boat across Coyote Lake.

 

In 2023, Gilroy Gardens will feature exciting new experiences, including the first-ever Fantastical Flowers Spring Festival, an all-new Lakeside Splash water play area, The Great Big BOO! Halloween, and a brand-new North Pole Nights holiday experience. Visitors can also stroll through the park's six unique gardens, such as the serene Claudia's Garden, the lush Camellia Garden, and the tropical Monarch Garden housed inside a 60-foot-tall greenhouse.

 

  1. Pacifica Rock and Roll Flea Market

 

Bring the family to the Pacifica Rock & Roll Flea Market, featuring 40 vendors selling records, musical instruments & memorabilia, antiques, handcrafted jewelry & gifts, antiques, books, and much more.

 

Live music starts at 11:30am by Th' Losin Streaks, Muck and the Mires, Rue '66, and Three O'Clock Rock
